Narrated Al-Bara: I did not see any man with locks hanging down to shoulders in red robe more beautiful than the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Muhammad bin Sulaiman added: He had hair which touched his shoulders. Abu Dawud said: Isra'il also transmitted it in a similar way from Abu Ishaq saying: (his hair) touched his shoulders . Shubah added: (His hair) reached the lobes of his ears.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَنْبَارِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِالْبَرَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ ذِي لِمَّةٍ أَحْسَنَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏زَادَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لَهُ شَعْرٌ يَضْرِبُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ كَذَا رَوَاهُ إِسْرَائِيلُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَضْرِبُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ:‏‏‏‏ يَبْلُغُ شَحْمَةَ أُذُنَيْهِ.

براء رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے کسی شخص کو جو کان کی لو سے نیچے بال رکھے ہو اور سرخ جوڑے میں ملبوس ہو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے زیادہ خوبصورت نہیں دیکھا ( محمد بن سلیمان کی روایت میں اتنا اضافہ ہے کہ ) آپ کے بال دونوں شانوں سے لگ رہے تھے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسی طرح اسے اسرائیل نے ابواسحاق سے روایت کیا ہے کہ وہ بال آپ کے دونوں شانوں سے لگ رہے تھے اور شعبہ کہتے ہیں: وہ آپ کے دونوں کانوں کی لو تک پہنچ رہے تھے ۔

Narrated Al-Bara: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم had hair which reached the lobes of his ears.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The hair of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم were up to the lobes of his ears.

Narrated Ibn Abbas: The people of the Book used to let their hair hand down, and the polytheists used to part their hair. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم like to confirm with the People of the Book in the matters about which he had received no command. Hence he Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم let his forelock hang down but afterwards he parted it.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: When I parted the hair of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم I made a parting from the crow of his head and let his forelock hang between his eyes.
