Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم once prayed wearing a garment having marks. He looked at its marks. When he saluted, he said: Take this garment of mine to Abu Jahm, for it turned my attention just now in my prayer, and bring a simple garment without marks. Abu Dawud said: The name of Abu Jahm bin Hudhaifah from Banu Adi bin Kab bin Ghanam

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا:‏‏‏‏ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي خَمِيصَةٍ لَهَا أَعْلَامٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَنَظَرَ إِلَى أَعْلَامِهَا فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اذْهَبُوا بِخَمِيصَتِي هَذِهِ إِلَى أَبِي جَهْمٍ فَإِنَّهَا أَلْهَتْنِي آنِفًا فِي صَلَاتِي وَأْتُونِي بِأَنْبِجَانِيَّتِهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ أَبُو جَهْمٍ بْنُ حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ غَانِمٍ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک دھاری دار چادر میں نماز پڑھی تو آپ کی نظر اس کی دھاریوں پر پڑی جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سلام پھیرا تو فرمایا: میری یہ چادر ابوجہم کو لے جا کر دے آؤ کیونکہ اس نے ابھی مجھے نماز سے غافل کر دیا ( یعنی میرا خیال اس کے بیل بوٹوں میں بٹ گیا ) اور اس کی جگہ مجھے ایک سادہ چادر لا کر دو ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: ابوجہم بن حذیفہ بنو عدی بن کعب بن غانم میں سے ہیں۔

Narrated Asma: Abdullah Abu Umar, client of Asma, daughter of Abu Bakr, said: I saw Ibn Umar buying a Syrian garment in the market. When he saw that it had red warp, he returned it. I then came to Asma and mentioned it to her. She said: Bring me, slave-girl, the mantle of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. She brought out a mantle of a course ornamented cloth, with its collar, sleeves, front, and back were hemmed with brocade.

Ibn Abbas said: It is only a garment wholly made of silk which the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade, but there is no harm in the ornamented border and the wrap.

Narrated Anas: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم gave license to Abdur-Rahman bin Awf and al-Zubair bin al-'Awwam to wear silk shirts during a journey because of an itch which they had.

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: The Prophet of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم took silk and held it in his right hand, and took gold and held it in his left hand and said: both of these are prohibited to the males of my community.

Anas bin Malik said that he saw a striped garment over Umm Kulthum, daughter of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: The word siyara means striped with silk.
