Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was travelling and night came on, he said: O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah; I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, the evil of what you contain, the evil of what has been created in you, and the evil of what creeps upon you; I seek refuge in Allah from lions, from large black snakes, from other snakes, from scorpions, from the evil of jinn which inhabit a settlement, and from a parent and his offspring.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي صَفْوَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي شُرَيْحُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَافَرَ فَأَقْبَلَ اللَّيْلُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَرْضُ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكِ اللَّهُ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّكِ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيكِ وَشَرِّ مَا خُلِقَ فِيكِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَدِبُّ عَلَيْكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ أَسَدٍ وَأَسْوَدَ وَمِنَ الْحَيَّةِ وَالْعَقْرَبِ وَمِنْ سَاكِنِ الْبَلَدِ وَمِنْ وَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ .

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب سفر کرتے اور رات ہو جاتی تو فرماتے: «يا أرض ربي وربك الله أعوذ بالله من شرك وشر ما فيك وشر ما خلق فيك ومن شر ما يدب عليك وأعوذ بالله من أسد وأسود ومن الحية والعقرب ومن ساكن البلد ومن والد وما ولد» اے زمین! میرا اور تیرا رب اللہ ہے، میں اللہ کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں تیرے شر سے اور اس چیز کے شر سے جو تجھ میں ہے اور اس چیز کے شر سے جو تجھ میں پیدا کی گئی ہے اور اس چیز کے شر سے جو تجھ پر چلتی ہے اور اللہ کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں شیر اور کالے ناگ سے اور سانپ اور بچھو سے اور زمین پر رہنے والے ( انسانوں اور جنوں ) کے شر سے اور جننے والے کے شر اور جس چیز کو جسے اس نے جنا ہے اس کے شر سے ۔

Jabir bin Abd Allaah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying “Do not send out your beasts when the sun has set till the darkness of the night prevails, for the devils grope about in the dark when the sun has set till the darkness of the night prevails. ”

Narrated Kab ibn Malik: It was rarely that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم set out on a journey on any day but on a Thursday.

Narrated Sakhr al-Ghamidi: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: O Allah, bless my people in their early mornings. When he sent out a detachment or an army, he sent them at the beginning of the day. Sakhr was a merchant, and he would send off his merchandise at the beginning of the day; and he became rich and had much wealth. Abu Dawud said: He is Sakhr bin Wada'ah.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: A single rider is a devil, and a pair of riders are a pair of devils, but three are a company of riders.
