Narrated Kab ibn Malik: It was rarely that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم set out on a journey on any day but on a Thursday.

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَلَّمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْرُجُ فِي سَفَرٍ إِلَّا يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ.

کعب بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ بہت کم ایسا ہوتا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جمعرات کے علاوہ کسی اور دن سفر میں نکلیں ( یعنی آپ اکثر جمعرات ہی کو نکلتے تھے ) ۔

Narrated Sakhr al-Ghamidi: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: O Allah, bless my people in their early mornings. When he sent out a detachment or an army, he sent them at the beginning of the day. Sakhr was a merchant, and he would send off his merchandise at the beginning of the day; and he became rich and had much wealth. Abu Dawud said: He is Sakhr bin Wada'ah.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The best number of companions is four, the best number in expeditions four hundred, and the best number in armies four thousand; and twelve thousand will not be overcome through smallness of numbers. Abu Dawud said: What is correct is that this tradition is mursal (i. e. the link of the Companion is missing).
