Narrated Saeed ibn AbulHasan: The pommel of the sword of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was of silver. Qatadah said: I do not know that anyone has supported him for that (for the tradition narrated by Saeed bin Abu al-Hasan).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَتْ قَبِيعَةُ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِضَّةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ قَتَادَةُ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَا عَلِمْتُ أَحَدًا تَابَعَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ.

(حسن بصری کے بھائی) سعید بن ابوالحسن کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی تلوار کے دستہ کی خول چاندی کی تھی۔ قتادہ کہتے ہیں: میں نہیں جانتا کہ اس پر ان کی متابعت کسی اور شخص نے کی ہے۔
