Translation

Narrated as-Saib ibn Yazid: as-Saib reported on the authority of a man whom he named: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم put on two coats of mail during the battle of Uhud as a double protection. (The narrator is doubtful about the word zahara or labisa. )

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَسِبْتُ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ خُصَيْفَةَ يَذْكُرُ عَنْ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَدْ سَمَّاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ ظَاهَرَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ بَيْنَ دِرْعَيْنِ أَوْ لَبِسَ دِرْعَيْنِ .

سائب بن یزید رضی اللہ عنہ ایک ایسے آدمی سے روایت کرتے ہیں جس کا انہوں نے نام لیا تھا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم غزوہ احد کے دن دو زرہیں اوپر تلے پہنے شریک غزوہ ہوئے۔
