Narrated Sahl ibn Hunayf: I felt greatly distressed by the frequent flowing of prostatic fluid. For this reason I used to take a bath very often. I asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم about this. He replied: Ablution will be sufficient for you because of this. I asked: Messenger of Allah, what should I do if it smears my clothes. He replied: It is sufficient if you take a handful of water and sprinkle it on your clothe when you find it has smeared it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ أَلْقَى مِنَ الْمَذْيِ شِدَّةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكُنْتُ أُكْثِرُ مِنَ الِاغْتِسَالِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا يُجْزِيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَيْفَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبِي مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَكْفِيكَ بِأَنْ تَأْخُذَ كَفًّا مِنْ مَاءٍ فَتَنْضَحَ بِهَا مِنْ ثَوْبِكَ حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ .

سہل بن حنیف رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ مجھے مذی سے بڑی تکلیف ہوتی تھی، باربار غسل کرتا تھا، لہٰذا میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کے متعلق دریافت کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: اس میں صرف وضو کافی ہے ، میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! کپڑے میں جو لگ جائے اس کا کیا ہو گا؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ایک چلو پانی لے کر کپڑے پر جہاں تم سمجھو کہ مذی لگ گئی ہے چھڑک لو ۔

Narrated Abdullah ibn Saad al-Ansari: I asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as to what makes it necessary to take a bath and about the (prostatic) fluid that flows after taking a bath. He replied: that is called madhi (prostatic fluid). It flows from every male. You should wash your private parts and testicles because of it and perform ablution as you do for prayer.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Saad al-Ansari: Abdullah asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: What is lawful for me to do with my wife when she is menstruating? He replied: What is above the waist-wrapper is lawful for you. The narrator also mentioned (the lawfulness of) eating with a woman in menstruation, and he transmitted the tradition in full.

Narrated Muadh ibn Jabal: I asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: What is lawful for a man to do with his wife when she is menstruating? He replied: What is above the waist-wrapper, but it is better to abstain from it, too. Abu Dawud said: This (tradition) is not strong.

Ubayy bin Kaab reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم made a concession in the early days of Islam on account of the paucity of clothes that one should not take a bath if one has sexual intercourse (and has no seminal emission). But later on her commanded to take a bath in such a case and prohibited its omission.

Ubayy bin Kaab said: The verdict that water (bath) is necessary when there is emission given by the people (in the early days of Islam) was due to the concession granted by the Messenger of Allah in the beginning of Islam. He then commanded to take a bath (in such a case). Abu Dawud said: By Abu Ghassan is meant Muhammad bin mutarrif.

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: when anyone sits between the four parts of a woman and the parts (of the male and female) which are circumscised join together, then bath becomes obligatory.
