Shaibah bin Uthman said “Umar bin Al Khattab was sitting in the place where you are sitting. He said I shall not go out until I distribute the property of The Kaabah. I said “You will not do it. ” He asked “Why?” I said “For the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and Abu Bakr had seen its place and they were more in need of the property than you, but they did not take it out. He (Umar) stood up and went out. ”

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ وَاصِلٍ الْأَحْدَبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شَيْبَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَعَدَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي مَقْعَدِكَ الَّذِي أَنْتَ فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا أَخْرُجُ حَتَّى أَقْسِمَ مَالَ الْكَعْبَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أَنْتَ بِفَاعِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَأَفْعَلَنَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أَنْتَ بِفَاعِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لِمَ قُلْتُ ؟ لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ رَأَى مَكَانَهُ وَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُمَا أَحْوَجُ مِنْكَ إِلَى الْمَالِ فَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ فَخَرَجَ .

شیبہ بن عثمان کہتے ہیں کہ عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ اس جگہ بیٹھے جہاں تم بیٹھے ہو اور کہا: میں باہر نہیں نکلوں گا جب تک کہ کعبہ کا مال ۱؎ ( محتاج مسلمانوں میں ) تقسیم نہ کر دوں، میں نے کہا: آپ ایسا نہیں کر سکتے، فرمایا: کیوں نہیں، میں ضرور کروں گا، میں نے کہا: آپ ایسا نہیں کر سکتے، وہ بولے: کیوں؟ میں نے کہا: اس لیے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس مال کی جگہ دیکھی، ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے بھی دیکھ رکھی تھی، اور وہ دونوں اس مال کے آپ سے زیادہ حاجت مند تھے لیکن انہوں نے اسے نہیں نکالا، یہ سن کر عمر کھڑے ہوئے اور باہر نکل آئے۔

Narrated Az-Zubayr: When we came along with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم from Liyyah and we were beside the lote tree, the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم stopped at the end of al-Qarn al-Aswad opposite to it. He then looked at Nakhb or at its valley. He stopped and all the people stopped. He then said: The game of Wajj and its thorny trees are unlawful made unlawful for Allah. This was before he alighted at at-Taif and its fortress for Thaqif.

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying “Journey should not be made (to visit any masjid) except towards three masjids: The sacred masjid (of Makkah), this masjid of mine and Al Aqsa masjid (in Jerusalem).

Ali said “We wrote down nothing on the authority of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم but the Quran and what this document contains. ”. He reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying “ Madeenah is sacred from A’ir to Thawr so if anyone produces an innovation (in it) or gives protection to an innovator the curse of Allaah, angels and all men will fall upon him and no repentance or ransom will be accepted from him. The protection granted by Muslim is one (even if) the humblest of them grants it. So if anyone breaks a covenant made by a Muslim the curse of Allaah, angels and all men will fall upon him and no repentance or ransom will be accepted from him. If anyone attributes his manumission to people without the permission of his masters the curse of Allaah, angels and all men will fall upon him and no repentance or ransom will be accepted from him.

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Its (Madina's) fresh grass is not to be cut, its game is not to be driven away, and things dropped in it are to be picked up by one who publicly announces it, and it is not permissible for any man to carry weapons in it for fighting, and it is not advisable that its trees are cut except what a man cuts for the fodder of his camel.

Adi bin Zaid said “The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم declared Madeenah a protected land a mail-post (three miles) from each side. Its trees are not to be beaten off or to be cut except what is taken from the Camel.

Narrated Sulayman ibn Abu Abdullah: Sulayman ibn Abu Abdullah said: I saw Saad ibn Abu Waqqas seized a man hunting in the sacred territory of Madina which the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم had declared to be sacred. He took away his clothes from him. His patrons came to him and spoke to him about it, but he replied: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم declared this territory to be sacred, saying: If anyone catches someone hunting in it he should take away from him his clothes. So I shall not return to you a provision which the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم has given me, but if you wish I shall pay you its price.
