Ibn Abbas reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to supplicate (with these words) and he (uttered these words) at the time of trouble; the rest of the hadith is the same except with this difference that insted of saying: The Lord of heaven and the earth, he said: The Lord of the heaven and that of the earth.
و حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ الرِّيَاحِيَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِنَّ وَيَقُولُهُنَّ عِنْدَ الْكَرْبِ فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
  ہمیں سعید بن ابی عروبہ نے قتادہ سے روایت کی ، ابوعالیہ ریاحی نے انہیں حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کرب کے وقت ان الفاظ سے دعا فرماتے تھے ، پھر وہی کلمات ذکر کیے جو معاذ بن ہشام نے اپنے والد سے اور انہوں نے قتادہ سے روایت کیے ، مگر انہوں نے ( " رب السماوات و رب الارض " کے بجائے ) " رب السماوات والارض " کہا ۔

Umm Darda' reported: My husband reported that he heard Allah's Mes- senger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: He who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), the Angel commissioned (for carrying supplication to his Lord) says: Amen, and it is for you also.

Safwan (and he was Ibn 'Abdullah b. Safwan, and he had been married to Umm Darda') reported: I visited Abu Darda's house in Syria. I did not find him there but Umm Darda' (was present at the house). She said: Do you intend to perform Hajj during this year? I said: Yes. She said: Do supplicate Allah for blessings upon us, for Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon hiin) used to say: The supplication of a Muslim for his brother at his back (in his absence) is responded so long as he makes a supplica- tion for blessings for his brother and the commissioned Angel says: Amen, and says: May it be for you too I I went to the bazar and met Abfi Dardi' and he narrated like this from Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ).
