This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters with the addition of Ibn Uyaina (and the words are): Do not cut off (mutual relations).
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، وَزَادَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ «وَلَا تَقَاطَعُوا»
  ابن عیینہ نے زہری سے اسی سند کے ساتھ روایت کی ، نیز ابن عیینہ نے مزید یہ کہا : " اور ایک دوسرے سے قطع رحمی نہ کرو ۔ "

Abu Ayyub Ansiri reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: It is not permissible for a Muslim to have estranged relations with his brother beyond three nights, the one turning one way and the other turning the other way when they meet; the better of the two is one who is the first to give a greeting.
