Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) having said: Wine is prepared from the (fruit) of these two trees-date-palm and vine.

حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْخَمْرُ مِنْ هَاتَيْنِ الشَّجَرَتَيْنِ النَّخْلَةِ وَالْعِنَبَةِ

یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر نے کہا کہ ابو کثیر نے انھیں حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا؛ " شراب ان دو درختوں ( کے پھلوں ) سے بنائی جاتی ہے ۔ : کھجور اورانگورسے ۔ "

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: Wine comes from vine and date-palms. Abu Kuraib has narrated it with a slight variation of words.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah al-Ansari reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace upon him) prohibited the mixing of grapes and fresh dates, and dry dates and fresh dates.
