Imran b. Husain reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) in a journey and we travelled throughout the night till at the end, just before dawn, we lay down (for rest), and nothing is sweeter for a traveller than this and none awakened us but the heat of the sun, and the rest of the hadith is the same (as mentioned above) except this additien: When 'Umar b. Khattab woke up, he saw what had happened to the people. And he was a man having a big belly and strongly built; he recited takbir in a loud voice till the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) woke up by the loudness of his voice in takbir. When the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) got up, the people told him what had happened. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: There is no harm; you better proceed further, and (the rest of the hadith) was narrated.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفُ بْنُ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيِّ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَسَرَيْنَا لَيْلَةً حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ قُبَيْلَ الصُّبْحِ وَقَعْنَا تِلْكَ الْوَقْعَةَ الَّتِي لَا وَقْعَةَ عِنْدَ الْمُسَافِرِ أَحْلَى مِنْهَا، فَمَا أَيْقَظَنَا إِلَّا حَرُّ الشَّمْسِ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ سَلْمِ بْنِ زَرِيرٍ، وَزَادَ وَنَقَصَ، وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ: فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَرَأَى مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ، وَكَانَ أَجْوَفَ جَلِيدًا، فَكَبَّرَ وَرَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ حَتَّى اسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِشِدَّةِ صَوْتِهِ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَكَوْا إِلَيْهِ الَّذِي أَصَابَهُمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا ضَيْرَ ارْتَحِلُوا» وَاقْتَصَّ الْحَدِيثَ

) عوف بن ابی جمیلہ اعرابی نے ابو رجاء عطاری سے ‘ انھوں نے حضرت عمران بن حصین ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کی ‘ کہا : ہم ایک سفر کے دوران میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ہمراہ تھے ‘ ہم ایک رات چلے ‘ جب رات کا آخری حصہ آیا ‘ صبح سے ٹھوڑی دیر پہلے ہم اس طرح پڑکر سو گئے کہ اس سے زیادہ میٹھی نیند ایک مسافر کے لیے اور کوئی نہیں ہو سکتی ‘ ہمیں سورج کی حرارت ہی نے جگایا ....پھر سلم بن زریر کی حدیث کی طرح حدیث سنائی اور کچھ کمی بیشی بھی اور ( اپنی روایت کردہ ) حدیث میں انھوں نے کہا : جب عمر بن خطاب ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ جاگے اور لوگوں کی صورت حال دیکھی ‘ اور وہ بلند آواز آدمی تھے تو انھوں نے اونچی آواز سے اللہ اکبر کہا حتی کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ان کے اونچے اللہ اکبرکہنے سے جاگ گئے ‘ جب اللہ کے رسول ﷺجاگ گئے تو لوگوں نے اپنے اس معاملے کی شکایت کی تو آپﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’کوئی ( بڑا ) نقصان نہیں ہوا ‘ ( آگئے ) چلو ۔ ‘ ‘ ......آگے وہی حدیث بیان کی ۔

Abu Qatada reported that when the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) was in a journey he got down for rest at night, and he used to lie down on his right side, and when he lay down for rest before the dawn, he used to stretch his forearm and place his head over his palm.

Qatada reported from Anas b. Malik that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: He who forgets the prayer should say it when he remembers it, there is no explation for it, except this. Qatada said: (Allah says) And observe prayer for remembrance of Me

Qatada narrated on the authority of Anas b. Malik that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: He who forgets the prayer, or he slept (and it was omitted), its expiation is (only) that he should observe it when he remembers it.

Qatada reported it on the authority of Anas b. Malik that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: When any one of you omits the prayer due to sleep or he forgets it, he should observe it when he remembers it, for Allah has said: Observe prayer for remembrance of Me.

A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), reported: The prayer was prescribed as two rak'ahs, two rak'ahs both in journey and at the place of residence. The prayer while travelling remained as it was (originally prescribed), but an addition was made in the prayer (observed) at the place of residence.
