Narrated Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas: I saw Allah's Apostle on the day of the battle of Uhud accompanied by two men fighting on his behalf. They were dressed in white and were fighting as bravely as possible. I had never seen them before, nor did I see them later on.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَمَعَهُ رَجُلَانِ يُقَاتِلَانِ عَنْهُ عَلَيْهِمَا ثِيَابٌ بِيضٌ كَأَشَدِّ الْقِتَالِ , مَا رَأَيْتُهُمَا قَبْلُ وَلَا بَعْدُ .

ہم سے عبدالعزیز بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ان کے باپ نے، ان کے دادا سے کہ سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا، غزوہ احد کے موقع پر میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا اور آپ کے ساتھ دو اور اصحاب ( یعنی جبرائیل علیہ السلام اور میکائیل علیہ السلام انسانی صورت میں ) آئے ہوئے تھے۔ وہ آپ کو اپنی حفاظت میں لے کر کفار سے بڑی سختی سے لڑ رہے تھے۔ ان کے جسم پر سفید کپڑے تھے۔ میں نے انہیں نہ اس سے پہلے کبھی دیکھا تھا اور نہ اس کے بعد کبھی دیکھا۔

Narrated Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas: The Prophet took out a quiver (of arrows) for me on the day of Uhud and said, Throw (arrows); let my father and mother be sacrificed for you.

Narrated Ibn Al Musaiyab: Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas said, Allah's Apostle mentioned both his father and mother for me on the day of the battle of Uhud. He meant when the Prophet said (to Sa`d) while the latter was fighting. Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you!

Narrated `Ali: I have never heard the Prophet mentioning his father and mother for anybody other than Sa`d bin Malik. I heard him saying on the day of Uhud, O Sa`d throw (arrows)! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you !
