Narrated Ibn Al Musaiyab: Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas said, Allah's Apostle mentioned both his father and mother for me on the day of the battle of Uhud. He meant when the Prophet said (to Sa`d) while the latter was fighting. Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you!

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ , حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ , عَنْ يَحْيَى , عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : لَقَدْ جَمَعَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ أَبَوَيْهِ كِلَيْهِمَا , يُرِيدُ حِينَ قَالَ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي وَهُوَ يُقَاتِلُ .

ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے یحییٰ بن کثیر نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن المسیب نے، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوہ احد کے موقع پر ( میری ہمت بڑھانے کے لیے ) اپنے والد اور والدہ دونوں کو جمع فرمایا۔ ان کی مراد آپ کے اس ارشاد سے تھی جو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس وقت فرمایا تھا جب وہ جنگ کر رہے تھے کہ میرے ماں باپ تم پر فدا ہوں۔
