Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, Doesn't it astonish you how Allah protects me from the Quraish's abusing and cursing? They abuse Mudhammam and curse Mudhammam while I am Muhammad (and not Mudhammam).

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَا تَعْجَبُونَ كَيْفَ يَصْرِفُ اللَّهُ عَنِّي شَتْمَ قُرَيْشٍ ، وَلَعْنَهُمْ يَشْتِمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا ، وَيَلْعَنُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ .

ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ مدینی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوالزناد نے، ان سے اعرج نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”تمہیں تعجب نہیں ہوتا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ مجھ سے قریش کی گالیوں اور لعنت ملامت کو کس طرح دور کرتا ہے۔ مجھے وہ «مذمم» کہہ کر برا کہتے، اس پر لعنت کرتے ہیں۔ حالانکہ میں تو محمد ہوں۔“

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: The Prophet said, My similitude in comparison with the other prophets is that of a man who has built a house completely and excellently except for a place of one brick. When the people enter the house, they admire its beauty and say: 'But for the place of this brick (how splendid the house will be)!

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, My similitude in comparison with the other prophets before me, is that of a man who has built a house nicely and beautifully, except for a place of one brick in a corner. The people go about it and wonder at its beauty, but say: 'Would that this brick be put in its place!' So I am that brick, and I am the last of the Prophets.
