Narrated Anas: The Prophet used to take a bath with one Sa` up to five Mudds (1 Sa` = [??] Mudds) of water and used to perform ablution with one Mudd of water.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ جَبْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْسِلُ أَوْ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ إِلَى خَمْسَةِ أَمْدَادٍ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ .
ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے مسعر نے، کہا مجھ سے ابن جبیر نے، انہوں نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب دھوتے یا ( یہ کہا کہ ) جب نہاتے تو ایک صاع سے لے کر پانچ مد تک ( پانی استعمال فرماتے تھے ) اور جب وضو فرماتے تو ایک مد ( پانی ) سے۔

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas said, The Prophet passed wet hands over his Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather). `Abdullah bin `Umar asked `Umar about it. `Umar replied in the affirmative and added, Whenever Sa`d narrates a Hadith from the Prophet, there is no need to ask anyone else about it.
