Translation

Narrated Anas: Some people from `Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them, so Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) allowed them to go to the herd of camels (given as Zakat) and they drank their milk and urine (as medicine) but they killed the shepherd and drove away all the camels. So Allah's Apostle sent (men) in their pursuit to catch them, and they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron and they were left in the Harra (a stony place at Medina) biting the stones. حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ عُرَيْنَةَ اجْتَوَوْا الْمَدِينَةَ فَرَخَّصَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَأْتُوا إِبِلَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَيَشْرَبُوا مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا وَأَبْوَالِهَا ، فَقَتَلُوا الرَّاعِيَ وَاسْتَاقُوا الذَّوْدَ ، فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأُتِيَ بِهِمْ فَقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ وَسَمَرَ أَعْيُنَهُمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ بِالْحَرَّةِ يَعَضُّونَ الْحِجَارَةَ ، تَابَعَهُ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ ، وَحُمَيْدٌ ، وَثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ .

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ قطان نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے شعبہ نے کہا کہ ہم سے قتادہ نے بیان کیا ‘ اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ عرینہ کے کچھ لوگوں کو مدینہ کی آب و ہوا موافق نہیں آئی۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں اس کی اجازت دے دی کہ وہ زکوٰۃ کے اونٹوں میں جا کر ان کا دودھ اور پیشاب استعمال کریں ( کیونکہ وہ ایسے مرض میں مبتلا تھے جس کی دوا یہی تھی ) لیکن انہوں نے ( ان اونٹوں کے ) چرواہے کو مار ڈالا اور اونٹوں کو لے کر بھاگ نکلے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے پیچھے آدمی دوڑائے آخر وہ لوگ پکڑ لائے گئے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے ہاتھ اور پاؤں کٹوا دئیے اور ان کی آنکھوں میں گرم سلائیاں پھروا دیں پھر انہیں دھوپ میں ڈلوا دیا ( جس کی شدت کی وجہ سے ) وہ پتھر چبانے لگے تھے۔ اس روایت کی متابعت ابوقلابہ ثابت اور حمید نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ کے واسطہ سے کی ہے۔

Narrated Anas bin Malik: I took `Abdullah bin Abu Talha to Allah's Apostle to perform Tahnik for him. (Tahnik was a custom among the Muslims that whenever a child was born they used to take it to the Prophet who would chew a piece of date and put a part of its juice in the child's mouth). I saw the Prophet and he had an instrument for branding in his hands and was branding the camels of Zakat.

Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle enjoined the payment of one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the `Id prayer. (One Sa' = 3 Kilograms approx.)

Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle made it incumbent on all the slave or free Muslims, male or female, to pay one Sa' of dates or barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr.

Narrated Abu Sa`id: We used to give one Sa' of barley as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (per head).

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: We used to give one Sa' of meal or one Sa' of barley or one Sa' of dates, or one Sa' of cottage cheese or one Sa' of Raisins (dried grapes) as Zakat-ul-Fitr.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: The Prophet ordered (Muslims) to give one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr. The people rewarded two Mudds of wheat as equal to that.
