Anas bin Malik narrated that: The Messenger of Alllah said: (Real) Patience is at the first stroke of the calamity.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الصَّبْرُ عِنْدَ الصَّدْمَةِ الْأُولَى . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”صبر وہی ہے جو پہلے صدمہ کے وقت ہو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Al-Qasim bin Muhammad narrated from Aishah: The Prophet kissed Uthman bin Maz'un when he died, and he was crying. Or, he (one of the narrators) said: His eyes were brimming with tears.

Umm Atiyyah narrated: One of the daughters of the Prophet died, so he said: 'Wash her an odd number of times, three, or five, or more than that as you see fit. Wash her with water and Sidr, and in the last (washing) add camphor, or something from camphor. When you are finished then inform me.' When we finished we informed him so he gave us his waist-sheet and said 'Wrap her in it.'
