Abu Sa'eed narrated that: The Prophet was asked about musk and he said: It is the best of your perfumes.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ خُلَيْدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْمِسْكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ أَطْيَبُ طِيبِكُمْ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ:‏‏‏‏ أَحْمَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ كَرِهَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ الْمِسْكَ لِلْمَيِّتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ الْمُسْتَمِرُّ بْنُ الرَّيَّانِ أَيْضًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَلِيٌّ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ:‏‏‏‏ الْمُسْتَمِرُّ بْنُ الرَّيَّانِ ثِقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ يَحْيَى:‏‏‏‏ خُلَيْدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثِقَةٌ.

ابو سعید خدری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مشک کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”یہ تمہاری خوشبوؤں میں سب سے بہتر خوشبو ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اور اسے مستمر بن ریان نے بھی بطریق: «أبي نضرة عن أبي سعيد عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» روایت کیا ہے، یحییٰ بن سعید کہتے ہیں کہ مستمر بن ریان ثقہ ہیں، ۳- بعض اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔ یہی احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کا بھی قول ہے، ۴- اور بعض اہل علم نے میت کے لیے مشک کو مکروہ قرار دیا ہے۔

Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Prophet said: Ghusl for one who washed him and Wudu for one who carried himm.

Ibn Abbas narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: Wear the white among your garments, for indeed they are among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in them.

Abu Qatadah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: When one of you shrouds his brother, then let him use the best of his shrouds.

Hisham bin Urwah narrated from his father that: Aishah said: The Prophet was shrouded in three white Yemeni cloths, there was no shirt nor turban among them. He said: So they mentioned the saying of the others to Aishah, that there were two garments and a Habir Burd. She said: 'A Burd was brought, but they refused it and they did not shroud him in it.'

Jabir bin Abdullah narrated: The Messenger of Allah shrouded Hamzah bin Abdul-Muttalib in one cloth of Namirah.
