Al-Qasim bin Muhammad narrated from Aishah: The Prophet kissed Uthman bin Maz'un when he died, and he was crying. Or, he (one of the narrators) said: His eyes were brimming with tears.

حدیث نمبر: 989 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبَّلَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ مَظْعُونٍ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ وَهُوَ يَبْكِي أَوْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَيْنَاهُ تَذْرِفَانِ . وَفِي الْبَاب:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَبَّلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عثمان بن مظعون رضی الله عنہ کا بوسہ لیا - وہ انتقال کر چکے تھے - آپ رو رہے تھے۔ یا ( راوی نے ) کہا: آپ کی دونوں آنکھیں اشک بار تھیں ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عائشہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابن عباس، جابر اور عائشہ سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ابوبکر رضی الله عنہ نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا بوسہ لیا ۲؎ اور آپ انتقال فرما چکے تھے۔

Umm Atiyyah narrated: One of the daughters of the Prophet died, so he said: 'Wash her an odd number of times, three, or five, or more than that as you see fit. Wash her with water and Sidr, and in the last (washing) add camphor, or something from camphor. When you are finished then inform me.' When we finished we informed him so he gave us his waist-sheet and said 'Wrap her in it.'
