Narrated 'Ikrimah: After Salat As-Subh, it was said to Ibn 'Abbas that so-and-so - one of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) - has died, so he prostrated. So it was said to him: 'Do you prostrate at this hour?' So he said: 'Has not the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) [already] said: 'If you see a sign then prostrate?' Then which sign is grater than the passing of (one of) the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ)?'
حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسٌ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ أَبُو غَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَكَانَ ثِقَةً،‏‏‏‏ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قِيلَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ:‏‏‏‏ مَاتَتْ فُلَانَةُ لِبَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَجَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقِيلَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَسْجُدُ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ ؟ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ آيَةً فَاسْجُدُوا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَيُّ آيَةٍ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ ذَهَابِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ.
عکرمہ کہتے ہیں کہ   فجر کے بعد ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے کہا گیا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ازواج میں سے فلاں کا انتقال ہو گیا، تو وہ سجدہ میں گر گئے، ان سے پوچھا گیا: کیا یہ سجدہ کرنے کا وقت ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: کیا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ نہیں فرمایا: ”جب تم اللہ کی طرف سے کوئی خوفناک بات دیکھو تو سجدہ کرو“، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ازواج کے دنیا سے رخصت ہونے سے بڑی اور کون سی ہو سکتی ہے؟“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف اسی سند سے جانتے ہیں۔

Narrated Safiyyah bint Huyai: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon me and some words had reached me from Hafsah and 'Aishah. So I mentioned it to him. So he said: 'Why did you not say: And how are you better than me, while my husband is Muhammad and my father is Harun, and my uncle is Musa? That which had reached her, was that they had said: We are more honored to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) than her, and that they said: We are the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) and his cousins.

Narrated Umm Salamah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called for Fatimah in the Year of the Conquest to him to speak to her, and she cried. Then he spoke to her and she laughed. She said: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died I asked her about her crying and her laughing. She said: 'The Messenger of Allah (SAW0 informed me that he would (soon) die, so I cried. Then, he informed me that I was the master over all of the women among the inhabitants of Paradise, except for Mariam bint 'Imran, so I laughed.'

Narrated Anas: said: It reached Safiyyah that Hafsah said: 'The daughter of a Jew' so she wept. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) entered upon her while she was crying, so he said: 'What makes you cry?' She said: 'Hafsah said to me that I am the daughter of a Jew.' So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'And you are the daughter of a Prophet, and your uncle is a Prophet, and you are married to a Prophet, so what is she boasting to you about?' Then he said: 'Fear Allah, O Hafsah.'

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: No one should convey to me anything regarding any of my Companions, for I love that I should go out to them while my breast is at peace. 'Abdullah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was brought some wealth, so the Prophet (ﷺ) distributed it. Then I came across two men that were sitting saying: 'By Allah! Muhammad (ﷺ) did not intend the Face of Allah in his distribution, nor the abode of the Hereafter.' So I spread this when I heard them, and I went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I informed him. So his face became red and he said: 'Do not bother me with this, for indeed Musa was afflicted by more than this and he was patient.'
