Narrated Khabbab: We emigrated with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), seeking the Face of Allah. So our reward is with Allah. Among us were those who died and did not consume any of the rewards (in this life), and among us were those who lived to see its fruits and tend to them. Verily, Musab bin 'Umair died without leaving anything behind but a garment. When they covered his head with it, his feet would become exposed. And when they covered his feet with it, his head will become exposed. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Cover his head and place Al-Idhkir over his feet.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ خَبَّابٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَاجَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبْتَغِي وَجْهَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَوَقَعَ أَجْرُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ فَمِنَّا مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ شَيْئًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنَّا مَنْ أَيْنَعَتْ لَهُ ثَمَرَتُهُ فَهُوَ يَهْدِبُهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ مُصْعَبَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ مَاتَ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَمْ يَتْرُكْ إِلَّا ثَوْبًا كَانُوا إِذَا غَطَّوْا بِهِ رَأْسَهُ خَرَجَتْ رِجْلَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِذَا غُطِّى بِهَا رِجْلَيْهِ خَرَجَ رَأْسُهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ غَطُّوا رَأْسَهُ وَاجْعَلُوا عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ الْإِذْخِرَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

خباب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ہجرت کی ۱؎، ہم اللہ کی رضا کے خواہاں تھے تو ہمارا اجر اللہ پر ثابت ہو گیا ۲؎ چنانچہ ہم میں سے کچھ لوگ تو ایسے ہیں کہ انہوں نے اپنے اجر میں سے ( دنیا میں ) کچھ بھی نہیں کھایا ۳؎ اور کچھ ایسے ہیں کہ ان کے امید کا درخت بار آور ہوا اور اس کے پھل وہ چن رہے ہیں، اور مصعب بن عمیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایسے وقت میں انتقال کیا کہ انہوں نے کوئی چیز نہیں چھوڑی سوائے ایک ایسے کپڑے کے جس سے جب ان کا سر ڈھانپا جاتا تو دونوں پیر کھل جاتے اور جب دونوں پیر ڈھانپے جاتے تو سر کھل جاتا، یہ دیکھ کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ان کا سر ڈھانپ دو اور ان کے پیروں پر اذخر گھاس ڈال دو“ ۴؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: How many are there with dishevelled hair, covered with dust, possessing two cloths, whom no one pays any mind to - if he swears by Allah then He shall fulfill it. Among them is Al-Bara bin Malik.

Narrated Abu Musa: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: O Abu Musa! You have been given a Mizmar among the Mazamir of the family of Dawud.

Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while he was excavating the trench, and we were transporting the soil. He passed by us and said: 'O Allah! There is no life but the life of the Hereafter! So forgive the Ansar and the Emigrants.'

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The best generation is my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then comes a people after that whose swearing precedes their testimony, or whose testimony precedes their swearing.
