Translation

Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while he was excavating the trench, and we were transporting the soil. He passed by us and said: 'O Allah! There is no life but the life of the Hereafter! So forgive the Ansar and the Emigrants.'

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَحْفِرُ الْخَنْدَقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنَحْنُ نَنْقُلُ التُّرَابَ فَيَمُرُّ بِنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ لَا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيْشَ الْآخِرَةِ فَاغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَهْ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو حَازِمٍ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ سَلَمَةُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ الْأَعْرَجُ الزَّاهِدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ.

سہل بن سعد رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے، آپ خندق کھود رہے تھے اور ہم مٹی ڈھو رہے تھے، آپ نے ہمیں دیکھا تو فرمایا: «اللهم لا عيش إلا عيش الآخره فاغفر للأنصار والمهاجره» ”اے اللہ زندگی تو آخرت ہی کی زندگی ہے، تو انصار و مہاجرین کی مغفرت فرما“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث اس سند سے حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں انس بن مالک سے بھی روایت ہے۔

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would say: O Allah! There is no life but the life of the Hereafter! So honor the Ansar and the Emigrants.

Narrated Talhah bin Khirash: I heard Jabir bin 'Abdullah saying: 'I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: The Fire shall not touch the Muslim who saw me, or saw one who saw me.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The best generation is my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then comes a people after that whose swearing precedes their testimony, or whose testimony precedes their swearing.

Narrated Jabir: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: None of those who gave the pledge under the tree shall enter the Fire.

Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do not abuse my Companions, for by the One in Whose Hand is my soul! If one of you were to spend gold the life of Uhud, it would not equal a Mudd - nor half of it - of one of them.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: (Fear) Allah! (Fear) Allah regarding my Companions! Do not make them objects of insults after me. Whoever loves them, it is out of love of me that he loves them. And whoever hates them, it is out of hatred for me that he hates them. And whoever harms them, he has harmed me, and whoever harms me, he has offended Allah, and whoever offends Allah, [then] he shall soon be punished.
