Narrated Abu Hurairah: I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) with some dates and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah to bless them.' So he took them and supplicated for me for blessing in them, and then said to me: 'Take them and put them in this bag of yours - or this bag - and whenever you intend to take from it, then put your hand in it and take it, and do not scatter them all about.' So I carried such and such Wasq of those dates in the cause of Allah. We used to eat from it, and give others to eat, and it (the bag) would not part from my waist until the day 'Uthman was killed, for they had run out.

حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْقَزَّازُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُهَاجِرُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ الرِّيَاحِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَمَرَاتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ اللَّهَ فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَضَمَّهُنَّ ثُمَّ دَعَا لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لِي:‏‏‏‏ خُذْهُنَّ وَاجْعَلْهُنَّ فِي مِزْوَدِكَ هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ فِي هَذَا الْمِزْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كُلَّمَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا فَأَدْخِلْ فِيهِ يَدَكَ فَخُذْهُ وَلَا تَنْثُرْهُ نَثْرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَدْ حَمَلْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ وَسْقٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكُنَّا نَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ وَنُطْعِمُ وَكَانَ لَا يُفَارِقُ حِقْوِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى كَانَ يَوْمُ قَتْلِ عُثْمَانَ فَإِنَّهُ انْقَطَعَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں کچھ کھجوریں لے کر حاضر ہوا، میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! ان میں برکت کی دعا فرما دیجئیے، تو آپ نے انہیں اکٹھا کیا پھر ان میں برکت کی دعا کی اور فرمایا: ”انہیں لے جاؤ اور اپنے توشہ دان میں رکھ لو اور جب تم اس میں سے کچھ لینے کا ارادہ کرو تو اس میں اپنا ہاتھ ڈال کر لے لو، اسے بکھیرو نہیں چنانچہ ہم نے اس میں سے اتنے اتنے وسق اللہ کی راہ میں دیئے اور ہم اس میں سے کھاتے تھے اور کھلاتے بھی تھے ۱؎ اور وہ ( تھیلی ) کبھی میری کمر سے جدا نہیں ہوتی تھی، یہاں تک کہ جس دن عثمان رضی الله عنہ قتل کئے گئے تو وہ ٹوٹ کر ( کہیں ) گر گئی۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث اس سند سے حسن غریب ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے دوسری سندوں سے آئی ہے۔

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Rafi': I said to Abu Hurairah: 'Why were you given the Kunyah Abu Hurairah?' He said: 'Do you not fear me?' He said: Indeed, I am in awe of you.' He said: 'I used to tend the sheep of my people, and I had a small kitten; so I used to place it in a tree at night, and during the day I would take it and play with it. So they named me Abu Hurairah.'

Narrated Abu Hurairah [may Allah be pleased with him] : There is none with more Ahadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) than I, except for 'Abdullah bin 'Amr, for he used to write, (the Ahadith) and I did not used to write.

Narrated 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abu 'Umairah - and he was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): from the Prophet (ﷺ), that he said to Mu'awiyah: O Allah, make him a guiding one, and guide (others) by him.

Narrated Abu Idris Al-Khawlani: When 'Umar bin Al-Khattab removed 'Umair bin Sa'd as governor of Hims, he appointed Mu'awiyah. The people said: 'He has removed 'Umair and appointed Mu'awiyah.' So 'Umair said: 'Do not mentioned Mu'awiyah except with good, for indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: O Allah guide (others) by him.
