Narrated Talhah bin 'Ubaidullah: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: 'Indeed, 'Amr bin Al-'As is from among the righteous of the Quraish.'

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْجُمَحِيِّ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ مِنْ صَالِحِي قُرَيْشٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ إِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ نَافِعِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْجُمَحِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنَافِعٌ ثِقَةٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِمُتَّصِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ لَمْ يُدْرِكْ طَلْحَةَ.

طلحہ بن عبیداللہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”عمرو بن العاص رضی الله عنہ قریش کے نیک لوگوں میں سے ہیں“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: اس حدیث کو ہم صرف نافع بن عمر جمحی کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں اور نافع ثقہ ہیں اور اس کی سند متصل نہیں ہے، اور ابن ابی ملیکہ نے طلحہ کو نہیں پایا ہے۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: We camped with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at a place, and the people began passing by. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would say: 'Who is this, O Abu Hurairah?' So I would say: 'So-and-so.' So he would say: 'What an excellent slave of Allah this is.' And he would say: 'Who is this?' So I would say: 'So-and-so.' So he would say: 'What a bad slave of Allah this is.' Until Khalid bin Al-Walid passed, so he said: 'Who is this?' So I said: 'This is Khalid bin Al-Walid.' He said: 'What an excellent slave of Allah is Khalid bin Al-Walid, a sword from among the swords of Allah.'

Narrated Al-Bara: A garment of silk was gifted to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) so they began to marvel at its softness, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Do you marvel at this? Indeed, the handkerchiefs of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in Paradise are better than this.'

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), saying while the funeral of Sa'd bin Mu'adh was in front of them: 'The Throne of Ar-Rahman shook due to it.'

Narrated Anas bin Malik: When the funeral of Sa'd bin Mu'adh was carried, the hypocrites said: 'How light his funeral is.' And this was due to his judgment concerning Banu Quraizah. So this reached the Prophet (ﷺ), and he said: 'Indeed, the angels were carrying him.'

Narrated Anas: Qais bin Sa'd used to be, to the Prophet (ﷺ), in the position of the head of police for a ruler. (One of the narrators) Al-Ansari said: That is: Due to his affairs that he takes charge of.
