Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to 'Ali: You are to me in the position that Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me.

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، أن النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُسْتَغْرَبُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ

سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے علی رضی الله عنہ سے فرمایا: ”تم میرے لیے ایسے ہی ہو جیسے ہارون، موسیٰ کے لیے تھے، مگر اتنی بات ضرور ہے کہ میرے بعد کوئی نبی نہیں“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے ۲- اور یہ سعد بن ابی وقاص کے واسطہ سے جسے وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں کئی سندوں سے آئی ہے، ۳- اور یحییٰ بن سعید انصاری کی سند سے یہ حدیث غریب سمجھی جاتی ہے۔

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that the gates be closed, except the gate of 'Ali.

Narrated 'Ali bin Husain: from his father, from his grandfather, 'Ali bin Abi Talib: The Prophet (ﷺ) took Hasan and Husain by the hand and said: 'Whoever loves me and loves these two, and their father and mother, he shall be with me in my level on the Day of Judgement.

Narrated Umm 'Atiyyah: The Prophet (ﷺ) sent an army in which was 'Ali. She said: While he was raising his hands, I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: 'O Allah! Do not cause me to die until You allow me to see 'Ali.
