Umar bin Abi Salamah narrated that he saw : Allah's Messenger performing Salat in the house of Umm Salamah wrapped in one garment.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ مُشْتَمِلًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَجَابِرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَسٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي أَسِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَكَيْسَانَ،‏‏‏‏ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُمِّ هَانِئٍ وَعَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَطَلْقِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ،‏‏‏‏ وَعُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَغَيْرِهِمْ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لَا بَأْسَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ قَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ:‏‏‏‏ يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ.

عمر بن ابی سلمہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی الله عنہا کے گھر میں اس حال میں نماز پڑھتے دیکھا، کہ آپ ایک کپڑے میں لپٹے ہوئے تھے ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عمر بن ابی سلمہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابوہریرہ، جابر، سلمہ بن الاکوع، انس، عمرو بن ابی اسید، عبادہ بن صامت، ابو سعید خدری، کیسان، ابن عباس، عائشہ، ام ہانی، عمار بن یاسر، طلق بن علی، اور عبادہ بن صامت انصاری رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔ صحابہ کرام اور ان کے بعد تابعین وغیرہم سے اکثر اہل علم کا عمل اسی پر ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک کپڑے میں نماز پڑھنے میں کوئی حرج نہیں اور بعض اہل علم نے کہا ہے کہ آدمی دو کپڑوں میں نماز پڑھے۔

Al-Bara bin Azib narrated: When Allah's Messener arrived in Al-Madinah, he faced Bait Al-Maqdis in Salat for sixteen or seventeen months. Allah's Messenger longed to face the direction of the Ka'bah, so Allah Most High revealed: Verily! We have seen the turning of your face towards the heaven. Surely We shall turn you o a Qiblah that shall please you. So turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram.So he faced the Ka'bah, and he liked that. A man performed the Asr prayer with him, then passed by some of the Ansar who were bowing in Salat for Asr while facing Bait Al-Maqdis. He told them that he had faced the direction of the Ka'bah, so they changed (their direction) while they were bowing. [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, Umarah bin Aws, Amr bin Awf Al-Muzani and Anas.

Ibn Umar said: They were bowing during the Subh (Fajr) Prayer.

Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: What is between the east and the west is Qiblah.

(Another chain narrating that) Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: What is between the east and the west is Qiblah.

Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabi'ah narrated from his father who said: We were with the Prophet on a journey on a very dark night and we did not know the direction of the Qiblah. So each man among us prayed in his own direction. In the morning when we mentioned that to the Prophet, then the following was revealed: So where ever you turn, there is the Face of Allah.
