Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhni sent a message to Abu Juhaim asking him what he had heard from Allah's Messenger about passing in front of a person who was performing Salat. Abu Juhaim said : that Allah's Messenger said: If the one who passed in front of the person performing Salat knew what he was doing, then for him to stop (and wait for forty) would be better for him than to pass in front of him.

دَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى أَبِي جُهَيْمٍ يَسْأَلُهُ:‏‏‏‏ مَاذَا سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَارِّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمُصَلِّي ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو جُهَيْمٍ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمَارُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمُصَلِّي مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ لَكَانَ أَنْ يَقِفَ أَرْبَعِينَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ:‏‏‏‏ لَا أَدْرِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا أَوْ شَهْرًا أَوْ سَنَةً. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍوَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَحَدِيثُ أَبِي جُهَيْمٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَأَنْ يَقِفَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِائَةَ عَامٍ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَخِيهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ كَرِهُوا الْمُرُورَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمُصَلِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ يَقْطَعُ صَلَاةَ الرَّجُلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاسْمُ أَبِي النَّضْرِ:‏‏‏‏ سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَدِينِيِّ.

بسر بن سعید سے روایت ہے کہ زید بن خالد جہنی نے انہیں ابوجہیم رضی الله عنہ کے پاس بھیجا تاکہ وہ ان سے یہ پوچھیں کہ انہوں نے مصلی کے آگے سے گزرنے والے کے بارے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کیا سنا ہے؟ تو ابوجہیم رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے: اگر مصلی کے آگے سے گزرنے والا جان لے کہ اس پر کیا ( گناہ ) ہے تو اس کے لیے مصلی کے آگے سے گزرنے سے چالیس … تک کھڑا رہنا بہتر ہو گا۔ ابونضر سالم کہتے ہیں: مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ انہوں نے چالیس دن کہا، یا چالیس مہینے کہا یا چالیس سال۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوجہیم رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابو سعید خدری، ابوہریرہ، ابن عمر اور عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یہ بھی مروی ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: ”تم میں سے کسی کا سو سال کھڑے رہنا اس بات سے بہتر ہے کہ وہ اپنے بھائی کے سامنے سے گزرے اور وہ نماز پڑھ رہا ہو“، ۴- اہل علم کے نزدیک عمل اسی پر ہے، ان لوگوں نے نمازی کے آگے سے گزرنے کو مکروہ جانا ہے، لیکن ان کی یہ رائے نہیں کہ آدمی کی نماز کو باطل کر دے گا۔

Ibn Abbas narrated: I was a companion rider on a female donkey with Al-Fadl. We came while the Prophet and his Companions were performing Salat at Mina. He said: We dismounted from it and joined the row. The donkey then passed in front of them, and this did not invalidate their Salat.

Abu Dharr said that : Allah's Messenger said: When a man performs Salat, and there is nothing in front of him like the post of a saddle, or a camel saddle, then his Salat is severed by (passing of) a black dog, a woman, and a donkey. It was said to Abu Dharr: What is the problem with the black dog rather than the red or white one? He said: O my nephew! I asked Allah's Messenger just as you have asked me. He said: 'The black dog is a Shaitan (devil).'

Umar bin Abi Salamah narrated that he saw : Allah's Messenger performing Salat in the house of Umm Salamah wrapped in one garment.

Al-Bara bin Azib narrated: When Allah's Messener arrived in Al-Madinah, he faced Bait Al-Maqdis in Salat for sixteen or seventeen months. Allah's Messenger longed to face the direction of the Ka'bah, so Allah Most High revealed: Verily! We have seen the turning of your face towards the heaven. Surely We shall turn you o a Qiblah that shall please you. So turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram.So he faced the Ka'bah, and he liked that. A man performed the Asr prayer with him, then passed by some of the Ansar who were bowing in Salat for Asr while facing Bait Al-Maqdis. He told them that he had faced the direction of the Ka'bah, so they changed (their direction) while they were bowing. [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, Umarah bin Aws, Amr bin Awf Al-Muzani and Anas.
