Narrated 'Aishah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about this Ayah: 'It is He who sent down to you the Book. In it are Ayat that are entirely clear... (3:7)' until the end of the Ayah. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When you see those who seek what is not entirely clear thereof, then it is they whom Allah has described, so beware of them.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ سورة آل عمران آية 7 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ سَمَّاهُمُ اللَّهُ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرُوِي عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَكَذَا رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَذْكُرُوا فِيهِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّمَا ذَكَرَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ سَمِعَ مِنْ عَائِشَةَ أَيْضًا.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے آیت «هو الذي أنزل عليك الكتاب منه آيات محكمات» کی تفسیر پوچھی گئی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تم ان لوگوں کو آیات متشابہات کے پیچھے پڑے ہوئے دیکھو تو سمجھ لو کہ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کا اللہ نے نام لیا ہے اور ایسے لوگوں سے بچو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث ایوب سے بھی مروی ہے، اور ایوب نے ابن ابی ملیکہ کے واسطہ سے عائشہ سے روایت کی ہے، ۳- ایسے ہی یہ حدیث متعدد لوگوں نے ابن ابی ملیکہ سے عائشہ سے روایت کی ہے۔ لیکن ان لوگوں نے اپنی اپنی روایات میں ”قاسم بن محمد“ کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے۔ ان کا ذکر صرف ”یزید بن ابراہیم تستری“ نے اس حدیث میں «عن القاسم» کہہ کر کیا ہے، ۴- ابن ابی ملیکہ عبداللہ بن عبیداللہ بن ابی ملیکہ ہیں، انہوں نے بھی عائشہ سے سنا ہے۔

Narrated 'Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Every Prophet had a Wali among the Prophets. My Wali is my father Ibrahim the Khalil of my Lord. Then he recited: Verily among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrahim, are those who followed him, and this Prophet and those who have believed. And Allah is the Wali (protector) of the believers (3:68).

Narrated 'Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever takes a false oath to deprive a Muslim of his property, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him. So Al-Ash'ath bin Qais said: By Allah! This was about me. There was a dispute between myself and a Jewish man who denied my right, and I complained against him to the Prophet (ﷺ). So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: 'Do you have any proof?' I said: 'No.' So he said to the Jew: 'Take an oath.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! If he takes an oath then I will lose my property.' So Allah, Blessed and Most High, revealed: Verily those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths... until the end of the Ayah. (3:77)

Narrated Anas: When this Ayah was revealed: By no means shall you attain Al-Birr unless you spend of that which you love (3:92). Or, '...Who is he that will lend to Allah a goodly loan... (2:245)' Abu Talhah - who had a garden - said: 'O Messenger of Allah! My garden is for Allah, and if I was able to keep it secret I would not make it public.' So he said: 'Keep it for your relatives' or 'your close relatives.'

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: A man stood before the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'Who is the (real) Hajj pilgrim, O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'The one with dishevelled hair who smells bad.' So another man stood and said: 'Which Hajj is most virtuous, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'The one with loud voices and blood (of the sacrifice).' Another man stood and said: 'What is 'the means', O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Provisions and a mount.'

Narrated 'Amir bin Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas: from his father who said: When this Ayah was revealed: 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women... (3:61)' the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called 'Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husain and said: 'O Allah! This is my family.'

Narrated Abu Ghalib: Abu Umamah saw heads (of the Khawarij) hanging on the streets of Damascus. He said: 'The dogs of the Fire and the worst dead people under the canopy of the heavens. The best dead men are those whom these have killed.' He then recited: On the Day when some faces will become white and some faces will become black... (3:106) until the end of the Ayah. I said to Abu Umamah: 'Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?' He said: 'If I had not heard it but one time, or two times, or three times, or four times - until he reached seven - I would not have narrated it to you.'
