Narrated Zaid bin Arqam: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever does not take from his mustache, then he is not from us.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِنْ شَارِبِهِ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏نَحْوَهُ.

زید بن ارقم رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے اپنی مونچھوں کے بال نہ لیے ( یعنی انہیں نہیں کاٹا ) تو وہ ہم میں سے نہیں ہے“۔
