Narrated Ibn 'Umar: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Trim the mustache and leave the beard to grow.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَحْفُوا الشَّوَارِبَ وَأَعْفُوا اللِّحَى ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ.
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”مونچھیں کاٹو اور داڑھیاں بڑھاؤ“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث صحیح ہے۔

He said: Protect your 'Awrah except from your wife or what your right hand possesses. ' He said: What about a man with another man? He said: If you are able to not let anyone see it, then do so. I said: What about a man when he is alone? He said: Allah is most deserving of being shy from Him.
