It was narrated from Abu Zubair that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah would raise his hands when he began the prayer, and when he bowed, and when he raised (his head) from Ruku’ he would do likewise, and he said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) doing that.” (One of the narrators) said: “Ibrahim bin Tahman (one of the narrators) raised his hands to his ears.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهكَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِذَا رَكَعَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَفَعَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى أُذُنَيْهِ .
ابوالزبیر سے روایت ہے کہ   جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما جب نماز شروع کرتے تو اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اٹھاتے، اور جب رکوع کے لیے جاتے، یا رکوع سے سر اٹھاتے تو بھی اسی طرح کرتے ( یعنی رفع یدین کرتے ) اور کہتے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ایسے ہی کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔ ابراہیم بن طہمان ( راوی حدیث ) نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اپنے دونوں کانوں تک اٹھا کر بتایا۔
