Translation

It was narrated from Umm Bakr that: She was told that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah said concerning a woman who sees that which causes her doubt (i.e. some bleeding) after she becomes pure: 'That is a vein or veins.' (Da'if) What was meant by 'after becomes pure' is after having a bath (following the end of her period).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شَيْبَانَ النَّحْوِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا أُخْبِرَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ تَرَى مَا يَرِيبُهَا بَعْدَ الطُّهْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا هِيَ عِرْقٌ أَوْ عُرُوقٌ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى:‏‏‏‏ يُرِيدُ بَعْدَ الطُّهْرِ بَعْدَ الْغُسْلِ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس عورت کے بارے میں جو پاکی کے بعد ایسی چیز دیکھے جو اسے شبہ میں مبتلا کرے، فرمایا: وہ تو رگوں سے خارج ہونے والا مادہ ہے ( نہ کہ حیض ) ۔ محمد بن یحییٰ کہتے ہیں: پاکی کے بعد سے مراد غسل کے بعد ہے۔

Muhammad bin Yahya said: Wuhaib (who narrated the second version) is the better of them with this according to us.

It was narrated that Umm Salamah said: At the time of the Messenger of Allah, women in postnatal bleeding (after childbirth) used to wait for forty days, and we used to put Wars on our faces because of freckles.
