It was narrated that Hudhaifah said: I was harsh in the way I spoke to my family, but not to others. I mentioned that to the Prophet (saas) and he said: 'Why don't you ask for forgiveness? Ask Allah to forgive you, seventy times each day.'
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ فِي لِسَانِي ذَرَبٌ عَلَى أَهْلِي وَكَانَ لَا يَعْدُوهُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِهِمْ،‏‏‏‏ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ؟ تَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً .
حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں اپنے گھر والوں پر زبان درازی کرتا تھا، لیکن اپنے گھر والوں کے سوا کسی اور سے زبان درازی نہ کرتا تھا، میں نے اس کا ذکر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: تم استغفار کیوں نہیں کیا کرتے، تم ہر روز ستر بار استغفار کیا کرو ۔

It was narrated from Abu Dharr that : the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: 'Whoever does one good deed will have (the reward of) ten like it and more, and whoever does a bad deed will have one like it, or I will forgive him. Whoever draws near to Me a hand span, I draw near to him an arm's length; whoever comes to Me a forearm's length, I draw near him an arm's length; whoever comes to Me walking, I come to him in a hurry. Whoever meets Me with an earthful of sins, but does not associate anything in worship with Me, I will meet it (i.e., his sins) with forgiveness equal to that.'

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that : the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: Allah says, 'I am as My slave thinks I am, and I am with him when he mentions Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws to Me a hand-span length, I draw near to him a forearm's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him in a hurry.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger : of Allah (saas) said: Every deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied for him, between ten and seven hundred times for each merit. Allah said: 'Except for fasting, for it is for Me and I shall reward for it.' (sahih)
