It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah passed by two new graves, and he said: 'They are being punished, but they are not being punished for anything major. One of them was heedless about preventing urine from getting on his clothes, and the other used to walk about spreading malicious gossip.'
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَوَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَبْرَيْنِ جَدِيدَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهُمَا لَيُعَذَّبَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا يُعَذَّبَانِ فِي كَبِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَمَّا أَحَدُهُمَا فَكَانَ لَا يَسْتَنْزِهُ مِنْ بَوْلِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَكَانَ يَمْشِي بِالنَّمِيمَةِ .
عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا گزر دو نئی قبروں کے پاس سے ہوا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ان دونوں کو عذاب دیا جا رہا ہے، اور یہ عذاب کسی بڑے گناہ کی وجہ سے نہیں ہو رہا ہے ( کہ جس سے بچنا مشکل تھا ) ، ایک شخص تو پیشاب ( کی چھینٹوں ) سے نہیں بچتا تھا، اور دوسرا غیبت ( چغلی ) کیا کرتا تھا
