It was narrated from Al-Aswad bin Hilal - who met the Prophet - from a man from Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu, that: some people from Banu Tha'labah killed a man from among the companions of the Messenger of Allah. A man from among the companions of the Messenger of the Allah said: O Messenger of Allah, these are Banu Tha'labah who killed so and so. The Messenger said: No soul is affected by the sin of another. Shu'bah (one of the narrators) said: That means: No soul is responsible for the sin of anothe4r, and Allah knows best.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَتَّابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ وَكَانَ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ أَصَابُوا رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو ثَعْلَبَةَ قَتَلَتْ فُلَانًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى أُخْرَى ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ شُعْبَةُ:‏‏‏‏ أَيْ لَا يُؤْخَذُ أَحَدٌ بِأَحَدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ.
اسود بن ہلال (انہوں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا عہد پایا تھا) بنی ثعلبہ بن یربوع کے ایک شخص سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ   بنو ثعلبہ کے کچھ لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ میں سے ایک شخص کو ہلاک کر دیا تھا۔ تو ایک صحابی رسول نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! یہ بنی ثعلبہ ہیں، جنہوں نے فلاں کو قتل کیا تھا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کسی نفس کا قصور کسی دوسرے پر نہیں ہو گا“۔ شعبہ کہتے ہیں: یعنی کسی کے بدلے کسی اور سے مواخذہ نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ واللہ اعلم۔

It was narrated from Al-Ash'ath bin sulaim, from his father that a man from among Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' said: I came to the Prophet when he was speaking, and a man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, these are Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' who killed so and so.' It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that: the Messenger of Allah ruled that one-third of the Diyah should be paid for a sightless eye that looks fine, if it is destroyed; one-third of the Diyah should be paid for a paralyzed hand if it is cut off; and one-third of the Diyah should be paid for a black tooth if it is knocked out.
