It was narrated that Jabir said: We used to eat horse meat during the time of the Messenger of Allah.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ لُحُومَ الْخَيْلِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں گھوڑے کا گوشت کھاتے تھے۔
