It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: The Messenger of Allah came to a man who was being supported by two others and said: 'What is the matter with him?' It was said: 'He vowed to walk to the Ka'bah.' He said: 'Allah does not benefit from his torturing himself.' And he told him to ride.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُهَادَى بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا شَأْنُ هَذَا ؟ . فَقِيلَ:‏‏‏‏ نَذَرَ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ. فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَصْنَعُ بِتَعْذِيبِ هَذَا نَفْسَهُ شَيْئًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ.

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ایک ایسے شخص کے پاس سے گزر ہوا جو اپنے دو بیٹوں کے درمیان ان کے کندھوں کا سہارا لیے چل رہا تھا، آپ نے فرمایا: اس کا کیا معاملہ ہے؟ عرض کیا گیا: اس نے کعبہ پیدل جانے کی نذر مانی ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: اس طرح اپنے آپ کو تکلیف دینے سے اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو کوئی ثواب نہیں دے گا، پھر آپ نے اسے سوار ہونے کا حکم دیا ۔

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever swears an oath and says: If Allah wills, then he has made an exception. '

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah, who attributed it to the Prophet: Sulaiman said: 'I will certainly go around to ninety women tonight, each of whom will bear a child who will fight in the cause of Allah.' It was said to him: 'Say: If Allah wills' but he did not say it. He went around to them but none of them bore a child except for one woman who bore half a person. The Messenger of Allah said: If he had said: 'If Allah wills,' he would not have broken his vow, and this would have been a means to help him to get what he wanted.

It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed said: When you hire a worker, tell him what his wages will be.

It was narrated from Hammad -Ibn Abi Sulaiman- that he was asked about a man who hired a worker in return for food and he said: No, not until he tells him (what his wages will be).

It was narrated from Hammad and Qatadah, concerning a man who said to another man: I will lease (something) from you until I reach Makkah for such and such a payment, and if I travel for a month or such and such -something that he named- I will give you such and such in addition. They did not see anything wrong with that, but they did not like it if he said: If I travel for more than a month I will deduct such and such from your lease.
