It was narrated from Abu Hurairah, who attributed it to the Prophet: Sulaiman said: 'I will certainly go around to ninety women tonight, each of whom will bear a child who will fight in the cause of Allah.' It was said to him: 'Say: If Allah wills' but he did not say it. He went around to them but none of them bore a child except for one woman who bore half a person. The Messenger of Allah said: If he had said: 'If Allah wills,' he would not have broken his vow, and this would have been a means to help him to get what he wanted.

أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَفَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ:‏‏‏‏ لَأَطُوفَنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى تِسْعِينَ امْرَأَةً تَلِدُ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ. فَقِيلَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يَقُلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَطَافَ بِهِنَّ،‏‏‏‏ فَلَمْ تَلِدْ مِنْهُنَّ إِلَّا امْرَأَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ نِصْفَ إِنْسَانٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَمْ يَحْنَثْ،‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ دَرَكًا لِحَاجَتِهِ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سلیمان علیہ السلام نے کہا: آج رات میں نوے ( ۹۰ ) عورتوں ( بیویوں ) کے پاس جاؤں گا، ان میں سے ہر عورت ایک ایسا بچہ جنے گی جو اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرے گا۔ ان سے کہا گیا: آپ ان شاءاللہ کہیں، لیکن انہوں نے نہیں کہا۔ سلیمان علیہ السلام اپنی عورتوں کے پاس گئے تو ان میں سے صرف ایک عورت نے آدھا بچہ جنا ، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر انہوں نے ان شاءاللہ کہا ہوتا تو وہ قسم توڑنے والے نہیں ہوتے اور اپنی حاجت پا لینے میں کامیاب بھی رہتے ۔

It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed said: When you hire a worker, tell him what his wages will be.

It was narrated from Hammad -Ibn Abi Sulaiman- that he was asked about a man who hired a worker in return for food and he said: No, not until he tells him (what his wages will be).

It was narrated from Hammad and Qatadah, concerning a man who said to another man: I will lease (something) from you until I reach Makkah for such and such a payment, and if I travel for a month or such and such -something that he named- I will give you such and such in addition. They did not see anything wrong with that, but they did not like it if he said: If I travel for more than a month I will deduct such and such from your lease.

It was narrated that Ibn Juraij said: I said to 'Ata': 'What if I hire a slave for a year in return for his food, and for another year, in return for such and such?' He said: 'There is nothing wrong with that, and you may stipulate your conditions of hiring even for a few days.' 'How about if I make a deal to hire him when part of the year has passed?' He said: 'Do not hold me to account for what has passed.'

It was narrated from Usaid bin Zuhair that he went out to his people, Banu Harithah, and said: O Banu Harithah, a calamity has befallen you. They said: What is it? He said: The Messenger of Allah has forbidden leasing land. We said: O Messenger of Allah, what if we lease it in return for some of the grain? He said, No. He said: We used to lease it in return for straw. He said: No. We used to lease it in return for what is planted on the banks of a stream that is used for irrigation. He said: No. Cultivate it (yourself) or give it to your brother.
