Translation

It was narrated that Anas said: The Messenger of Allah saw traces of yellow perfume on 'Abdur-Rahman and said: 'What is this?' He said: 'I married a woman for a Nawah (five Dirhams) of gold.' He said: 'May Allah bless you. Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.'

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ .

انس رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عبدالرحمٰن ( عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ ) کے کپڑے پر زردی کا نشان دیکھا تو پوچھا: یہ کیا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: کھجور کی گٹھلی کے وزن برابر سونا دے کر میں نے ایک عورت سے شادی کی ہے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: «بارك اللہ لك» ”اللہ تمہیں اس نکاح میں برکت دے“ ولیمہ کرو اگرچہ ایک بکری ہی ہو۔

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that 'Ali said: I got married to Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, let me consummate the marriage.' He said: 'Give her something.' I said: 'I do not have anything.' He said: 'Where is your Hutami armor?' I said: 'It is with me.' He said: 'Give it to her.'
