It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: A woman should not be taken as a co-wife to her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt.

أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ دُرُسْتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا عَلَى خَالَتِهَا .

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کسی عورت سے اس کی پھوپھی کی موجودگی میں شادی نہ کی جائے، اور نہ ہی اس کی خالہ کی موجودگی میں اس سے شادی کی جائے“۔
