It was narrated from Ibn Jabir, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah said: There is a kind of protective Jealousy that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves anda kind that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, hates, and a kind of pride that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves and a kind that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, hates, As for the protective jealousy that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves, it is protective jealousy when there are grounds for suspicion. As for the protective jealousy that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, hates, it is protective jealousy when there are no grounds for suspicion. As for the pride that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves, it is when a man feels proud of himself when fighting and when giving charity. And as for the kind of pride that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, hates, it is pride in doing wrong.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ التَّيْمِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ مِنَ الْغَيْرَةِ مَا يُحِبُّ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنْهَا مَا يَبْغُضُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنَ الْخُيَلَاءِ مَا يُحِبُّ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنْهَا مَا يَبْغُضُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَّا الْغَيْرَةُ الَّتِي يُحِبُّ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَالْغَيْرَةُ فِي الرِّيبَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمَّا الْغَيْرَةُ الَّتِي يَبْغُضُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَالْغَيْرَةُ فِي غَيْرِ رِيبَةٍ وَالِاخْتِيَالُ الَّذِي يُحِبُّ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اخْتِيَالُ الرَّجُلِ بِنَفْسِهِ عِنْدَ الْقِتَالِ وَعِنْدَ الصَّدَقَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالِاخْتِيَالُ الَّذِي يَبْغُضُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏الْخُيَلَاءُ فِي الْبَاطِلِ .

جابر رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ایک غیرت وہ ہے جسے اللہ تعالیٰ پسند کرتا ہے، اور ایک غیرت وہ ہے جسے اللہ ناپسند کرتا ہے، ( ایسے ہی ) ایک فخر وہ ہے جسے اللہ تعالیٰ پسند کرتا ہے، اور ایک فخر وہ ہے جسے اللہ تعالیٰ ناپسند کرتا ہے، تو جس غیرت کو اللہ پسند کرتا ہے وہ تہمت کی جگہ کی غیرت ہے، اور وہ غیرت ۱؎ جو اللہ عزوجل کو ناپسند ہے تو وہ غیر تہمت کی جگہ کی غیرت ہے ۲؎ رہا فخر جو اللہ کو پسند ہے تو وہ آدمی کا لڑائی کے وقت یا صدقہ دیتے وقت اپنی ذات پر فخر ہے ۳؎ اور وہ فخر جو اللہ کو ناپسند ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ آدمی لغو اور بیہودہ کاموں پر فخر کرے“۔

It was narrated from Salim bin 'Abdullah that his father said: The Messenger of Allah said: There are three at whom Allah will not look on the Day of Resurrection: The one who disobeys his parents, the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance, and the cuckold. And there are three who will not enter Paradise: The one who disobeys his parents, the drunkard, and the one who reminds people of what he has given them. '

It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Prophet said: There are three to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, or look at them, or sanctify them, and theirs will be a painful torment. The Messenger of Allah repeated and Abu Dharr said: May they be lost and doomed. He said: The one who lets his garment hang beneath his ankles, a vendor who tries to sell his product by means of false oaths, and the one who reminds people of what he has given them.
