أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لِي الْحَكَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ الْحَكَمُ:‏‏‏‏ وَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ مَيْمُونُ بْنُ أَبِي شَبِيبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ.

شعبہ کہتے ہیں کہ حکم نے مجھ سے کہا کہ میں نے یہ حدیث ان سے یعنی معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ سے چالیس سال پہلے سنی تھی، پھر حکم نے کہا نیز مجھ سے اسے میمون بن ابی شبیب نے بیان کیا انہوں نے معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی۔
