An-Nadr bin Shaiban narrated that he met Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur-Rahman and said to him: Tell me of the best thing you heard about the month of Ramadan. Abu Salamah said: Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf told me that the Messenger of Allah mentioned Ramadan and said that it is superior to other months, and he said: 'Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother bore him. '(Daif) Abu 'Abdur-Rahman (An-Nasai) said: This is a mistake, and what is correct is Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي النَّضْرُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ حَدِّثْنِي بِأَفْضَلِ شَيْءٍ سَمِعْتَهُ يُذْكَرُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ فَفَضَّلَهُ عَلَى الشُّهُورِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏خَرَجَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا خَطَأٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالصَّوَابُ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏.‏

نصر بن علی کہتے ہیں: مجھ سے نضر بن شیبان نے بیان کیا کہ وہ ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن سے ملے، تو ان سے انہوں نے کہا: آپ نے ماہ رمضان کے سلسلے میں جو سب سے افضل قابل ذکر چیز سنی ہوا سے بیان کیجئے تو ابوسلمہ نے کہا: مجھ سے عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہوئے بیان کیا کہ آپ نے ماہ رمضان کا ذکر کیا تو اسے تمام مہینوں میں افضل قرار دیا اور فرمایا: ”جس نے رمضان میں ایمان کے ساتھ ثواب کی نیت سے قیام اللیل کیا، یعنی نماز تراویح پڑھی، تو وہ اپنے گناہوں سے ایسے ہی نکل جائے گا جیسے اس کی ماں نے اسے آج ہی جنا ہو“۔ ابوعبدالرحمٰن ( نسائی ) کہتے ہیں: یہ غلط ہے «أبوسلمة حدثني عبدالرحمٰن» کے بجائے صحیح «أبوسلمة عن أبي هريرة» ہے۔

An-Nadr bin Shaiban said: I said to Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur-Rahman: 'Tell me of something that you heard from your father, that he heard from the Messenger of Allah, with no one in between your father and Messenge of Allah concerning the month of Ramadan. He said: 'Yes; my father said: The Messenger of Allah said: Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, enjoined the fast of Ramadan upon you, and I have made it Sunnah for you to spend its nights in prayer. Whoever fasts it and spends its nights in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother bore him. ' (Daif)

It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that the Messenger of Allah said: Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, says: 'Fasting is for me and I shall reward for it. The fasting person has two moments of joy: When he breaks his fast and when he meets his Lord.' By the One in whose hand is my soul, the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk. '

It was narrated from Abu Al-Ahwas that 'Abdullah said: Allah, may He be exalted, said: 'Fasting is for me and I shall reward for it. The fasting person has two moments of joy: When he breaks his fast and when he meets his Lord. And the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk. ' '

By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk. '
