Translation

Arabic, english and urdu

It was narrated from Yazid bin Thabit that: they went out with the Messenger of Allah one day and he saw a new grave. He said: What is this? They said: This is so-and-so, the freed slave woman of Banu so-and-so - whom Messenger of Allah knew - She died at midday and we did not like to wake you up when you were fasting and taking a nap. The Messenger of Allah stood (for prayer) and the people formed rows behind him. He said four Takbirs over her then he said: If anyone among you dies while I am still among you, inform me, for my prayer for his is a mercy.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو قُدَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمِّهِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُمْ خَرَجُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَرَأَى قَبْرًا جَدِيدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ هَذِهِ فُلَانَةُ مَوْلَاةُ بَنِي فُلَانٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَعَرَفَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَاتَتْ ظُهْرًا وَأَنْتَ نَائِمٌ قَائِلٌ فَلَمْ نُحِبَّ أَنْ نُوقِظَكَ بِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَفَّ النَّاسَ خَلْفَهُ وَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهَا أَرْبَعًا،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيكُمْ مَيِّتٌ مَا دُمْتُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ إِلَّا آذَنْتُمُونِي بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ صَلَاتِي لَهُ رَحْمَةٌ .

یزید بن ثابت رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ لوگ ایک دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نکلے، تو آپ نے ایک نئی قبر دیکھی تو فرمایا: ”یہ کیا ہے؟“ لوگوں نے کہا: یہ فلاں قبیلے کی لونڈی ( کی قبر ) ہے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے پہچان لیا، وہ دوپہر میں مری تھی، اور آپ قیلولہ فرما رہے تھے، تو ہم نے آپ کو اس کی وجہ سے جگانا پسند نہیں کیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہوئے، اور اپنے پیچھے لوگوں کی صف بندی کی، اور آپ نے چار تکبیریں کہیں، پھر فرمایا: ”جب تک میں تمہارے درمیان ہوں جو بھی تم میں سے مرے اس کی خبر مجھے ضرور دو، کیونکہ میری نماز اس کے لیے رحمت ہے“۔

It was narrated from Sulaiman Ash-Shaibani from Ash-Sha'bi: Some people passed by an isolated grave with the Messenger of Allah and he led them in prayer and they formed rows behind him. I said: Who was that O Abu 'Amr? He said: Ibn 'Abbas.

Ash-Shaibani narrated that Ash-Sha'bi said: Someone who saw the Prophet pass by an isolated grave told me that he offered the funeral prayer there and his Companions formed rows behind him. It was said: Who told you this? He said: Ibn 'Abbas.
