Ash-Shaibani narrated that Ash-Sha'bi said: Someone who saw the Prophet pass by an isolated grave told me that he offered the funeral prayer there and his Companions formed rows behind him. It was said: Who told you this? He said: Ibn 'Abbas.

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال الشَّيْبَانِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَرَّ بِقَبْرٍ مُنْتَبِذٍ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَصَفَّ أَصْحَابَهُ خَلْفَهُ ،‏‏‏‏ قِيلَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ.
