It was narrated that Al-Bark' said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah for a funeral, and when we reached the grave the Lahd had not yet been prepared. He sat, and we sat around him, as if there were birds on our heads.

أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَاذَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْقَبْرِ وَلَمْ يُلْحَدْ فَجَلَسَ وَجَلَسْنَا حَوْلَهُ كَأَنَّ عَلَى رُءُوسِنَا الطَّيْرَ .

براء بن عازب رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک جنازے میں نکلے، جب ہم قبر کے پاس پہنچے تو وہ تیار نہیں ہوئی تھی، چنانچہ آپ بیٹھ گئے تو ہم بھی آپ کے اردگرد بیٹھ گئے، گویا ہمارے سر پر پرندے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Tha'labah said: The Messenger of Allah said, concerning those who had been slain at Uhud: 'Wrap them up on their clothes that are stained with blood, for there is no wound that is sustained for the sake of Allah, but it will come bleeding on the Day of Resurrection: its color will be the color of blood, but its fragrance will be the fragrance of musk. '
