Translation

It was narrated that 'Ali said: I said to the Prophet: 'Your paternal uncle, the old misguided man has died. Who will bury him?' He said: 'Go and bury your father, then do not do anything until you come to me.' So I buried him then I came, and he told me to perform Ghusl and he prayed for me, and he mentioned a supplication that I do not remember. '

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَاجِيَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ عَمَّكَ الشَّيْخَ الضَّالَّ مَاتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمَنْ يُوَارِيهِ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اذْهَبْ فَوَارِ أَبَاكَ وَلَا تُحْدِثَنَّ حَدَثًا حَتَّى تَأْتِيَنِي ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَوَارَيْتُهُ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَأَمَرَنِي فَاغْتَسَلْتُ وَدَعَا لِي وَذَكَرَ دُعَاءً لَمْ أَحْفَظْهُ.

علی رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا: آپ کے بوڑھے گم کردہ راہ چچا ( ابوطالب ) مر گئے ہیں، انہیں کون دفن کرے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”تم جاؤ اور اپنے باپ کو دفن کر دو اور کوئی نئی چیز نہ کرنا جب تک میرے پاس لوٹ نہ آنا“، چنانچہ میں انہیں دفن کر آیا، تو آپ نے میرے لیے ( نہانے کا ) حکم دیا، میں نے غسل کیا، اور آپ نے مجھے دعا دی۔ راوی ناجیہ بن کعب کہتے ہیں: اور علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک ایسی دعا کا ذکر کیا جسے میں یاد نہیں رکھ سکا۔

It was narrated that Hisham bin 'Amir said: We complained to the Messenger of Allah on the day of Uhud, saying: 'O Messneger of Allah, it is too difficult for us to dig a grave for each person.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Dig graves and make them good and deep, and bury two or three in one grave.' They said: 'Who should we put in first, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Put in first the one who knew more Qur'an. ' He said: My father was the third of three in one grave.

It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Hisham bin 'Amir that his father said: On the day of Uhud some of the people among the Muslims were killed, and people were wounded. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Dig graves and make them wide, and bury two or three in a grave, and put the one who knew more Qur'an in first. '
