Translation

It was narrated that Al-Bara bin 'Azib said: The Messenger of Allah commanded us to do seven things, and forbade us form seven things. He commanded us to visit the risk, to reply (say: Yarhamuk Allah, may Allah have mercy on you) to one who sneezes, to fulfill our oaths, to support the oppressed, to spread the greeting of Salam, to accept invitation, and to attend funerals. And he forbade us from using gold rings, silver vessels, Mayathir, the Qasiyyah, Al-Istabraq, silk and Ad-Dibaj.

أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ. ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال هَنَّادٌ،‏‏‏‏ قال الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقال سُلَيْمَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ،‏‏‏‏ وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِبْرَارِ الْقَسَمِ،‏‏‏‏ وَنُصْرَةِ الْمَظْلُومِ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِفْشَاءِ السَّلَامِ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي،‏‏‏‏ وَاتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنَهَانَا عَنْ خَوَاتِيمِ الذَّهَبِ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَنْ آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَنِ الْمَيَاثِرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْقَسِّيَّةِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْإِسْتَبْرَقِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْحَرِيرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالدِّيبَاجِ .

براء بن عازب رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں سات چیزوں کا حکم دیا، اور سات باتوں سے منع فرمایا: ہمیں آپ نے مریض کی عیادت کرنے، چھینکنے والے کے جواب میں «یرحمک اللہ» کہنے، قسم پوری کرانے، مظلوم کی مدد کرنے، سلام کو عام کرنے، دعوت دینے والوں ( کی دعوت ) قبول کرنے، اور جنازے کے ساتھ جانے کا حکم دیا، اور ہمیں آپ نے سونے کی انگوٹھیاں پہننے سے، چاندی کے برتن ( میں کھانے، پینے ) سے، میاثر، قسّیہ، استبرق ۱؎، حریر اور دیباج نامی ریشمی کپڑوں سے منع فرمایا ہے۔

It was narrated that Al-Musayyab bin Rafi' said: I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib say: The Messenger of Allah said: 'whoever follows a Janazah until the prayer is offered, he will haveone Qirat of reward and whoever walks with the funeral until (the body) is buried will have two Qirats of reward, and a Qirat is like Uhud. '

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Al-Mughaffal said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever follows a Janazah until it is finished, he will have two Qirats, and whoever goes back before it is finished, he will have one Qirat.
