It was narrated that Al-Musayyab bin Rafi' said: I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib say: The Messenger of Allah said: 'whoever follows a Janazah until the prayer is offered, he will haveone Qirat of reward and whoever walks with the funeral until (the body) is buried will have two Qirats of reward, and a Qirat is like Uhud. '

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُرْدٍ أَخِي يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا كَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ قِيرَاطٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ مَشَى مَعَ الْجَنَازَةِ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ كَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ قِيرَاطَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ .

براء بن عازب رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص جنازے کے ساتھ گیا، اور اس کے ساتھ رہا یہاں تک کہ اس پر جنازہ کی نماز پڑھی گئی اس کے لیے ایک قیراط کا ثواب ہے، اور جو شخص کسی جنازے کے ساتھ گیا، اور اس کے ساتھ رہا یہاں تک وہ دفن کر دیا گیا، تو اس کے لیے دو قیراط کا ثواب ہے، اور ایک قیراط احد ( پہاڑ ) کے مثل ہے“۔

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Al-Mughaffal said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever follows a Janazah until it is finished, he will have two Qirats, and whoever goes back before it is finished, he will have one Qirat.
